Ally Shook

Ally Stephens, MSW, CFRE

Development Director

Originally from the Grand Rapids area, Ally remembers when Catherine’s first started in the church basement. Now, she is honored to be a part of a talented and passionate team dedicated to delivering health equity to the community and patient-centered care to everyone who comes through the doors. With a focus on strategy and connection, Ally worked in various fund development roles at nonprofits in the Grand Rapids and Seattle, WA areas prior to coming to Catherine’s. At Catherine’s, Ally’s favorite part of her role is helping community members access their basic human right to quality, integrated healthcare. Ally received her Bachelor of Social Work from Grand Valley State University and her Master of Social Work with an emphasis on Community Organizing from the University of Michigan. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive. 

Sara Brooks

Sara Brooks, MPA

Operations Director

Sara began in healthcare as a medical assistant over 13 years ago, and ever since then has made it her life’s work to ensure patients have the most positive healthcare experience they can have. Sara has worked in a variety of health centers big and small, and most recently has worked as a practice manager of a radiation oncology practice. Sara started at Catherine’s in 2021 because she wanted to continue her passion of ensuring the best care for patients, and was excited to be a part of the Catherine’s team as we expand into new locations and provide much needed access to a larger population of patients.

Dustin Maynes

Dustin Maynes, MSW

Finance Director

Dustin has been working with Catherine’s since March of 2016, starting his work as an Executive Assistant, then Project Specialist, Operations and Finance Director, and now serves as Finance Director. Dustin is passionate about nonprofit work, and finds that his favorite part about his job is the variety and excitement about growing, improving, and developing an organization that supports the greater community. Dustin graduated from Grand Valley with an undergraduate degree in Social Work, and received his Master’s in Social Work/Nonprofit & Organizational Leadership from Michigan State.

Megan Erskine

Megan Erskine, MPA

Chief Executive Officer

Megan Erskine began as Catherine’s CEO in Spring of 2022, bringing 14 years of experience in healthcare along with her. Megan is deeply passionate about improving health equity in our community through patient-centered, quality care that supports people in reaching their full potential. Her vision for Catherine’s ensures that Catherine’s meets the growing needs of its diverse population by providing culturally-sensitive care that is co-designed by our patients and communities. 

Kenzie Newman

Kenzie Newman, LMSW

Location: Townline Elementary, Streams

Kenzie started working at Catherine’s in August of 2022. She currently works at Townline Elementary, providing mental health support to students and their families. She attended Calvin University where she earned her BSW in 2017 and moved on to Western Michigan University to obtain her MSW in 2019. During graduate school, she worked at a mental health crisis clinic providing de-escalation, referrals, and support to callers who needed assistance. She then started working as a School Social Worker in Kentwood Public Schools before transitioning to her role with Catherine’s Health Center as their School-Based Behavioral Health Provider. Her current experience and passion are working with children ages 3 to 18.

Her most common models in therapy include using a strengths-perspective, motivational interviewing, CBT, play therapy, DBT strategies, and family-based techniques. She has experience working with children/families and young adults with depression, anxiety, ADHD, anger PTSD, LGBTQ+ issues, family trauma, Autism, and self-esteem issues. She has appreciated the support that Catherine’s has provided for her in this role and is honored to work with her clients and families.
