Medical Providers


Mark Contreras, DNP, NP-C

Location: Creston

Mark Contreras began at Catherine’s in 2012 as a volunteer RN, and since then has worked a variety of jobs within the organization until becoming our Medical Director in January of 2021. Mark is dedicated to patient wellbeing and cares deeply about the patients he works with. He finds that his favorite part about working at Catherine’s is the genuine culture of high quality, dignified patient care here.

Mark is passionate about supporting patients through their individual experiences, tailoring their care to be specific to their unique needs and considerations so that they have a fair chance at maintaining or regaining their health.


Megan DeMaagd-Rodriguez, NP-C

Location: Creston

Megan has served as a nurse practitioner at Catherine’s since 2017 and has loved every minute of working with her patients. Megan found out about Catherine’s after working here during her clinical rotation as a student at Michigan State, and found that she really enjoyed the patient population and knew she would love to work here.

Katherine Murillo, MS, PA-C

Location: Wyoming

Katherine joined Catherine’s after working at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Detroit, and is incredibly excited to work with patients here in the community. Katherine is passionate about connecting with her patients and providing care that meets all of their needs.

Debra Bossenbroek NP-C

Location: Streams 

Debra is a passionate nurse practitioner who has been with Catherine’s Health Center for over 19 years now. Debra is drawn to caring for underserved individuals and families with consideration of the community social determinants of health. Debra’s model of care always follows getting to know the patient first, as if you don’t know the patient’s life, you can’t always know if a treatment plan will work for them. In addition to caring for underserved individuals and families, Debra also holds interests in women’s health and care of immigrants, as her father was an immigrant.


Heather Bunting, MD

Location: Wyoming

Dr. Bunting has spent the majority of her 20-year career providing primary care for all ages in both Chicago and Grand Rapids. She is a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician and is excited to start her work at Catherine’s Health Center Wyoming providing care for the community! She recently joined Catherine’s out of an excitement for being part of an organization that focuses on improving individual health in the context of community health.

Joshlyn Litzenberger, NP-C

Location: Wyoming

Joshlyn started out her career in medicine working as a Community Health Nurse for the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi tribe. From there, she became a Nurse Practitioner and practiced at an FQHC for the past eight years. She comes to Catherine’s with an excitement for community health and a commitment to work with patients and help them reach their health and life goals. Joshlyn also treats substance abuse disorder, can provide gender affirming hormones to those who need them, and can prescribe PrEP for HIV prevention.

Jacob Iceberg, DO

Location: Streams

Dr. Iceberg is a board-certified family medicine physician who recently joined Catherine’s Health Center. He is passionate about providing comprehensive care to the community and working with patients to develop individualized plans to improve their health.


Dental Providers

Chad Peters, DDS

Location: Catherine’s Health Center Dental

Dr. Peters has brought passion and years of expertise to Catherine’s Health Center since he joined the team in 2020. He and his family have lived in Grand Rapids for over 15 years, and he is passionate about providing care to this community. His goal is for patients to feel that Catherine’s is their dental home and that they are comfortable with each visit and the comprehensive care they receive.

Dr. Peters earned his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2008. His experience in general dentistry includes exams, restorations, crown and bridge, extractions, partial and full dentures. He loves spending time with his family, bowling, landscaping, cooking, and traveling.

When asked about his philosophy of care, Dr. Peters said he works to provide quality care, educate patients about their care, and treat each patient as if they are a family member.

Samuel Spraggins III, DDS

Location: Catherine’s Health Center Dental, Catherine’s at Streams

Dr. Spraggins has brought compassion and expertise to Catherine’s Health Center since he joined the team in February 2023. He has lived in Grand Rapids for 30 years and is passionate about helping patients achieve proper dental health. His goal is for patients to be able to have a dental home, not a clinic, and to build relationships with patients. Dr. Spraggins earned his dental degree from the University of Michigan and Dawson Academy for functional dentistry. His experience in general dentistry includes restoration, surgery, and root canal occlusion treatment.

He loves spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends, and on the golf course. When asked about his philosophy of care, Dr. Spraggins said he prides himself with listening to patients, understanding where they are and helping them to where they want to go.

Behavioral Health Providers

Cheryl Tschosik, LMSW

Location: Creston

For over the past 30 years, Cheryl has had the privilege of working with a variety of individuals across cultures who have desired to transform their lives by working through issues such as depression, anxiety, gender identity, addictions, trauma, grief and loss, aging, and other life-altering disruptions. She welcomes the opportunity to journey with patients through life challenges and together explore what tools would be most useful to improve the quality of life. Some of those therapeutic approaches include Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). DBT skills, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,  grief therapy, and addiction counseling amongst others. 

Katie Hauge, MA, LLPC

Location: Creston, Wyoming

Katie started working at Catherine’s in 2019 as the Lead Health Coach and head of the WISEWOMAN program. Prior to her work at Catherine’s she has worked as a recreational therapist leading therapeutic groups and working with youth who have experienced trauma. While completing her Master’s in Counseling, she provided mental health care at a private practice clinic and in a rural school. She has over 8 years of mental health experience working with folks ages 6 to 90 of many different backgrounds. She graduated from Hope with her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and Psych, and received her Masters in Counseling from Cornerstone University. 

Katie has extensive experience working with clients struggling with trauma and PTSD, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, grief, domestic violence, perinatal issues, women’s health, chronic illness, autism, ADHD, and identity work. She uses therapeutic techniques like narrative therapy, CBT, art therapy, mind-body connection techniques, trauma-focused, ACT, and mindfulness.

Kenzie Newman, LMSW

Location: Townline Elementary, Streams

Kenzie started working at Catherine’s in August of 2022. She currently works at Townline Elementary, providing mental health support to students and their families. She attended Calvin University where she earned her BSW in 2017 and moved on to Western Michigan University to obtain her MSW in 2019. During graduate school, she worked at a mental health crisis clinic providing de-escalation, referrals, and support to callers who needed assistance. She then started working as a School Social Worker in Kentwood Public Schools before transitioning to her role with Catherine’s Health Center as their School-Based Behavioral Health Provider. Her current experience and passion are working with children ages 3 to 18.

Her most common models in therapy include using a strengths-perspective, motivational interviewing, CBT, play therapy, DBT strategies, and family-based techniques. She has experience working with children/families and young adults with depression, anxiety, ADHD, anger PTSD, LGBTQ+ issues, family trauma, Autism, and self-esteem issues. She has appreciated the support that Catherine’s has provided for her in this role and is honored to work with her clients and families. 

Elizabeth Anastasia, PhD, LP

Location: Wyoming

Dr. Anastasia joined Catherine’s in March of 2023. With a passion for reducing health disparities and making health care more accessible for the community, she brings experience from multiple federally qualified health centers. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Arkansas in 2020 and completed her predoctoral psychology internship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Spanish from the University of Michigan. 

Dr. Anastasia is trained in evidence-based therapy interventions that she personalizes to fit the needs of each patient, with an emphasis on compassion and a supportive therapeutic relationship. She has experience with a wide variety of behavioral health concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, sleep problems, and providing support for patients with chronic medical conditions. She often utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness and acceptance interventions, and motivational interviewing. She prioritizes cultural sensitivity, and as a bilingual provider, offers services in both Spanish and English.

Leadership

Megan Erskine, MPA

Chief Executive Officer

Megan Erskine began as Catherine’s CEO in Spring of 2022, bringing 14 years of experience in healthcare along with her. Megan is deeply passionate about improving health equity in our community through patient-centered, quality care that supports people in reaching their full potential. Her vision for Catherine’s ensures that Catherine’s meets the growing needs of its diverse population by providing culturally-sensitive care that is co-designed by our patients and communities.

Dustin Maynes, MSW

Finance Director

Dustin has been working with Catherine’s since March of 2016, starting his work as an Executive Assistant, then Project Specialist, Operations and Finance Director, and now serves as Finance Director. Dustin is passionate about nonprofit work, and finds that his favorite part about his job is the variety and excitement about growing, improving, and developing an organization that supports the greater community. Dustin graduated from Grand Valley with an undergraduate degree in Social Work, and received his Master’s in Social Work/Nonprofit & Organizational Leadership from Michigan State.

Sara Brooks, MPA

Operations Director

Sara began in healthcare as a medical assistant over 13 years ago, and ever since then has made it her life’s work to ensure patients have the most positive healthcare experience they can have. Sara has worked in a variety of health centers big and small, and most recently has worked as a practice manager of a radiation oncology practice. Sara started at Catherine’s in 2021 because she wanted to continue her passion of ensuring the best care for patients, and was excited to be a part of the Catherine’s team as we expand into new locations and provide much needed access to a larger population of patients.

Ally Stephens, MSW, CFRE

Development Director

Originally from the Grand Rapids area, Ally remembers when Catherine’s first started in the church basement. Now, she is honored to be a part of a talented and passionate team dedicated to delivering health equity to the community and patient-centered care to everyone who comes through the doors. With a focus on strategy and connection, Ally worked in various fund development roles at nonprofits in the Grand Rapids and Seattle, WA areas prior to coming to Catherine’s. At Catherine’s, Ally’s favorite part of her role is helping community members access their basic human right to quality, integrated healthcare. Ally received her Bachelor of Social Work from Grand Valley State University and her Master of Social Work with an emphasis on Community Organizing from the University of Michigan. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive.
