Catherine’s Health Center, a non-profit, safety-net health center, has an immediate opening for a medical biller/coder to join our front office team. Responsibilities will primarily focused on medical billing and claims processing but may also include answering phones, scheduling appointments, patient check in and check out, and insurance verification.
Necessary skills to succeed at this position include but are not limited to: excellent verbal and written communication, proficiency with standard desktop computer system, multi line phones, keyboard entry, and electronic health record, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a setting with frequent interruptions and multiple competing priorities with a focus on excellent service and customer satisfaction. Must have good knowledge and understanding of EOB’s, knowledge of CPT/ICD10 codes, tracking claim status, denials and insurance verification. Must be able to communicate with patients and insurance companies. Have problem solving skills, be punctual and work well in a team setting.
Our ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years experience with billing and claims processing in a medical office or similar setting. Knowledge of community resources, FQHC medical billing and patient assistance programs is a plus.
